The soul-stirring experience of a live Kundalini Yoga class with master teacher Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa is really unlike any other. You will laugh, you will cry, you will dance, you will sing, you will sweat, you will push yourself – physically – in ways you never thought possible. . .and in the end, you will walk away with profound, deep, unending gratitude for the experience and for Gurmukh’s candor and wisdom.
Sat Nam Fest was thrilled to catch up with Gurmukh to chat about her experience of Sat Nam Fest and what brings her back to the festival year after year.
Puranjot: What is your favorite memory from Sat Nam Fest?
Gurmukh: I have too many favorite memories that come to my mind. When I’m teaching, live musicians are playing on the stage, and everybody’s energy is so delicious. A magic tornado whirls in and transports us beyond time and space. I absolutely love the sensation that I feel when I teach at Sat Nam Fest.
Puranjot: What are you excited about for this year?
Gurmukh: I’m excited about the rolling grassy hills, the giant trees that have so many stories to tell us, the big sky, and all the people who are there for hugging and for loving.
Puranjot: What can you share about your class at Sat Nam Fest?
Gurmukh: Sat Nam Fest is the easiest place to teach. The people are so willing and so happy. The magic of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation as taught by Yogi Bhajan is in their hearts and Souls The feeling is easy with so much love.
Puranjot: What is your personal practice right now?
Gurmukh: My practice is doing Sadhana, walking, practicing Kundalini Yoga, and going to classes in other forms of yoga, as I travel around the world. The easy and powerful “Guidance Meditation” is my favorite meditation right now.
Puranjot: What is the most important message you feel called to share with your students at this time?
Gurmukh: The power of this teaching has been carrying us for almost 50-years: “Keep up, and you will be kept up!” Do not miss this important festival… a must for you, for your family, for your friends, for your Soul.
Puranjot: What keeps you coming back to teach at Sat Nam Fest?
Gurmukh: I smile whenever I think of Sat Nam Fest. Every time I think of Sat Nam Fest, I see Karan Kahran Kaur. Her smile is contagious. Her love is contagious. I will never miss Sat Nam Fest as long as I am able.
Gurmukh often leads the entire gathering through an epic “tunnel of love” – an experience we will forever hold in our hearts. Check out some of these photos of the tunnel of love experience. Don’t miss all that she has in store for us this year!
