Joining in Aquarian Sadhana with a group of fellow yogis is a powerful way to poise yourself to succeed in all that you do. Many people who attend Sat Nam Fest know how recharged and inspired they feel after four mornings of practicing together.
Aquarian Sadhana is a 2.5-hour practice given to us by Yogi Bhajan that’s so complete it offers enough to nourish your entire being: body, mind, and spirit. It will revitalize you through contact with the infinite during the ambrosial hours: 3:30 – 6am.
We begin by chanting a beautiful poem written by the 16th-century sage, Guru Nanak. This poem is called Japji Sahib or The Song of the Soul. Chanting Japji aligns the chakras, cleanses the ten bodies, and immerses us in the sacred sound current that prepares us for a most uplifting yoga and meditation practice. Just listening to the group chant this poem, one receives deep healing.
After chanting, we tune in and practice a rigorous yoga kriya to bring vitality to every part of the body. We breathe and mentally vibrate “Sat Nam.” We prepare our bodies to sit in meditation and be open to receiving the gifts of a quiet mind and a light heart.
Then, we enjoy Savasana. We relax completely. We surrender. Ahhh!
Next, we rise from our deep relaxation to sit in Easy Pose. Our legs are crossed. Our eyes are focused at the Third Eye Point between our eyebrows. We chant the seven mantras for the Aquarian Sadhana: Long Ek Ong Kaars, Wah Yantee, Mool Mantra, Sat Siri Siri Akaal, Rakhe Rakhanhar, Wahe Guru Wahe Jio, and Guru Guru Wahe Guru Guru Ram Das Guru. All the chanting brings us into sharper awareness of the qualities of light, grace, wisdom, affection, and bliss that we all embody.
The Aquarian Sadhana always ends with the option of bowing our heads to the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, the sacred text that gives us all of these nourishing mantras. We can also enjoy a peaceful Gurudwara service. Bowing our heads in this way opens the 10th Gate, and the Gurudwara service blesses us with royal courage.
Then, we’re ready for the day. No matter what happens, because we completed our morning Sadhana, we make it through the day with our mind, body, and spirit feeling balanced, whole, healthy, and at ease.
Join us for Aquarian Sadhana at Sat Nam Fest Joshua Tree. We could use your beautiful presence to make the experience that much more complete. Sat Nam!
